ShakeIt — Support
Medication reminders, plus ON/OFF state tracking for Parkinson's. Everything stays on your iPhone.
Common questions
- My reminders aren't arriving.
- Open iOS Settings → Notifications → ShakeIt and check that Allow Notifications is on. If it was turned off when you first opened the app, reminders will not have been arriving since.
- What does marking a medication "Urgent" do?
- It uses a different sound and keeps reminding you until you log the dose — eight times over two hours, at 10, 20, 30, 45, 60, 75, 90 and 120 minutes past the scheduled time. Urgent reminders can also break through Focus and Do Not Disturb. Mark only the doses where being late genuinely matters.
- What do ON and OFF mean?
- They are the standard Parkinson's terms: ON is when your medication is working, OFF is when symptoms return. Tap the ON or OFF button at the top of the Today screen to record which one you're in. An ON period counts from when it started, not from your most recent check-in.
- Why did my ON timer stop?
- After four hours with no check-in, the app stops counting rather than assuming you are still ON. It shows the time you last logged instead — a stale figure would be worse than none.
- Can I correct a time I logged wrongly?
- Yes. Tap a dose to set the exact time it was taken. For an ON or OFF entry, open it and tap the time at the top.
- How do I give my history to my doctor?
- Settings → Export history as CSV. It opens in Numbers, Excel or Google Sheets, and you can send it straight from the share sheet.
- Is my data sent anywhere?
- No. There is no account and no server. See the privacy policy.
